The Western Colorado Amateur Radio Club will once again be operating from the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, south of Grand Junction, Colorado. Come out and join us to learn more about amateur radio, meet new and old friends and make contacts. You are welcome to come out for a few hours, the whole day or camp and spend the whole weekend. It is dry camping in an open area with scattered pines. We will even supply the porta-potty! Please note that a fire ban is in place. Only gas fires in appropriate equipment are allowed by the State. It’s a good time with lots of good people. We hope to see you there.
Directions:
From Grand Junction you will go South on Highway 50 to Highway 141, turning right. From Montrose, Delta, Olathe and points south, you will go North on Highway 50 and turn left onto Highway 141.
From the turn off onto Highway 141, you will travel 14.3 miles to the brown sign that says Divide Road, turning to your left.
Once on Divide Road you will travel approximately 9.5 miles on a dirt road to the WCARC Field Day site. Please note it is bumpy in some places and is dusty but other than that, the road is fairly well maintained.
You should see a sign that says Field Day. You will turn left onto a small dirt road. 1/10th of a mile down you will see the white portable radio tents, antennas and camp site.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
