Howdy Everyone.
Field Day is just around the corner. I know many of us will be out on BLM land either for the day or enjoying some camping for a few days. I thought it might be a good reminder to review BLM policies on camping and the use of public land. I know we all want to be able to enjoy the vast amount of public land in our area for years to come. Making sure we are good stewards of this resource is our responsibility. We also want to represent Amateur Radio in a positive light in our actions and also any inner actions with BLM staff. Last year we had two BLM staff members show up at our camps. They were super nice and were interested in what we were doing. Leaving a great impression can go a long way.
With that said, I encourage you to visit the Colorado Section of the BLM website were there is a lot of information about our public lands. I have also added a copy of the BLM’s guidelines for Dispersed Camping to our site for your reference or convenient printing.
Get out this Field Day, even if it is just a few hours in a local park or on BLM land. Enjoy what we have here in Colorado and our incredible hobby.
