Howdy Everyone. This years ARRL Field Day is just over 2 1/2 weeks away. The WCARC will once again be operating as W0RRZ from the same location as in years past, the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area. Plans are to be in the same exact camping area.
However, there is still a lot of concern, for some, regarding the current COVID-19 situation. With that in mind, we are planning for a more relaxed and spread out event this year. There are currently no plans to setup a multi-tent, master station area. Brad, AK0BC, will be operating as W0RRZ and would be happy to let others operate from his station if they like. Anyone else that wants to setup within 1,000 feet of Brad is also welcome to operate as W0RRZ. However, if you would like to operate with the club call sign, please get with Brad to discuss bands, modes and logging details.
Other club members have expressed the desire to attend but plan on spreading out the camping and operating with their own gear and under their own call signs. I would imagine there will be a lot of “1Bravo” stations this year in general. We still plan on getting together around the campfire, maintaining a little social distance and letting the fire burn any germs away. lol There will be a lot of socializing, discussions about rigs, antennas and the big DX that got away. So if you want to get out in the country for a bit, come out and enjoy your radios, friends and some clean fresh air. It will still be a lot of fun. Being more spread out is just a good reason to use our HTs!

From Grand Junction you will go South on Highway 50 to Highway 141, turning right. From Montrose, Delta, Olathe and points south, you will go North on Highway 50 and turn left onto Highway 141.
From the turn off onto Highway 141, you will travel 14.3 miles to the brown sign that says Divide Road, turning to your left.
Once on Divide Road you will travel approximately 9.5 miles on a dirt road to the WCARC Field Day site. Please note it is bumpy in some places and is dusty but other than that, the road is fairly well maintained.
You should see a sign that says Field Day.
