April WCARC Club Meeting moved to Your Ham Shack!

Posted on March 26, 2020March 29, 2020

Due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19, the WCARC thought it best that we move the April 2020 club meeting to Your Ham Shack.  That’s right, your going to have to clean that shack up, finish some projects, do some dusting and break out those folding chairs.  Clean up some of those cables while your at it!

Ok, maybe we will all just stay home and use our own ham shacks. You should still clean though.  That place is a mess!

box-of-donutsWe are not getting any younger, so for the welfare of our members we will be hosting the April 11th club meeting one the 94 and 175 repeaters.  This will give everyone the chance to check in and also check on the welfare of our fellow Hams.  The meeting will start at the same time, 0930 MST.  Virtual donuts will be available HERE!  For information about our repeaters, please visit the Club Repeaters Page.

This is a great opportunity for us to practice our skills and it also allows those Hams that can’t physically attend to participate.  Now is the time to check you gear and make sure you can use the repeaters.  Scrambling at the last minute and asking people for a radio check during the meeting is not the way to go.  Besides, we should be interacting and using the repeaters more than we do.

Note that this meeting is open to all licensed Hams.  You don’t have to be a member of the club to participate.  Everyone is welcome.

One more thing, I would like everyone to send me a picture of their current Ham Shack.  I will post them all here on the club website in a slide show.  That way we can flip through the pictures during the meeting and see where people are operating from and the equipment they are using.  Please email me the picture with your Name and Call Sign.  You can include 1 sentence that describes your shack or gear.  Please keep it short.  When I post the picture I will just put your First Name, Call Sign & your description with the image.  You don’t have to send me an image to participate, I just feel this would be a great way to share our hobby.  (Please be sure there is not anything in your image you don’t want people to see.  LOL)  When you send me the email, in the subject line, please put “WCARC Ham Shack Image“.  It will help me find the emails faster.

I will get it started.  This was my first Ham Shack in 2017, 7 months after I got my ticket.  For an image of my current shack, you will have to check back for the slide show.

John, WJ0NF, formerly AD0VM.  IC-718, Signalink, MFJ Tuner and an ice cold Fresca!

After I get the first 3 images I will post a link on the club site to the Slide Show.  Then a couple of times a week, as time allows, I will add more pictures.  The last image update will be on Friday the 10th.  Don’t wait though, we want people to have a little time to look through the images before the meeting.

If you have any questions about the meeting, please send an email to our Fearless Leader and President, Brad.

Hope to see everyone’s shack and hear you on the air, April 11th.

73, John, WJ0NF
