Winlink over the Grand Valley Mesh

We use Winlink worldwide email service over the Grand Valley Mesh.  Regardless of whether you send and receive emails via HF, VaraFM or Mesh, all of your email will be available by any of those means.  However, Winlink over the Mesh network is very, very fast!

TeamTalk over the Grand Valley Mesh

TeamTalk is a conferencing application that works like Zoom.  You can chat in full duplex, transfer files, and share desktops over the mesh network.

For Apple and IOS devices, download TeamTalk from the respective play store.

For Windows, Mac, or Linux PC, download TeamTalk here:

Download TeamTalk 5 – BearWare.dk

Note that to use voice chat over TeamTalk while using a using a PC you will need a USB or Bluetooth heaset so that the mic and speakers do not cause feedback, echoes, or squeals.

You do not need to install the TeamTalk server, as the server is already provided inside the Grand Valley Mesh.  You will need to contact Bill, K0DZ, to obtain a password for use with TeamTalk.

IP Telephone calling over the Mesh

We recommend Grandstream phones for use on the Grand Valley Mesh.  We have greater familiarity with Grandstream devices and can get you connected quickly.   Ebay is a great place to find inexpensive Grandstream phones.

If you don’t yet have a 4-digit telephone extension for use on the Mesh, contact Steve, KE0BPD or Bill, K0DZ.  A single extension can be configured to ring multiple devices.

Another option is to install a soft-phone app on your cell phone, tablet, or PC.  We use Linphone across the Mesh for placing call to IP telephones and to Linphone users.
